Headlines

Markov out at least four months: Canadiens All-Star D Andrei Markov will be out for at least four months after slicing a tendon in his ankle. The team said on Friday that Markov had surgery in a Toronto hospital. He was injured when Maple Leafs goaltender Carey Price caught the Russian with his skate during Montreal's 4-3 overtime victory on Thursday night.

Markov is a top-10 Fantasy defenseman when healthy, and this news will result in thousands of Fantasy owners putting their heads in their hands. Markov won't be back until January at the earliest, so just stash him away in all formats until then. Markov put up a career-high 64 points last season, and his presence will be missed greatly by both the Canadiens and Fantasy owners. Hopefully he doesn't suffer any lasting issues from this injury.
