Fantasy Analysis

McLean has spent the last few seasons with the Panthers, but really fell into a rut in 2008-09, his first and only year with coach Peter DeBoer. He never found his rhythm on the fourth line and managed a career-low 19 points. McLean could make the Lightning as a lower-line addition, but even if that happens, he is going to have minimal Fantasy appeal.

LW Brett MacLean was tagged by GM Don Maloney as the dark horse to make the team coming out of training camp, and he has been impressive. But he said if he had to start the season with the San Antonio Rampage of the AHL is would not mean he has failed but would give him one more chance to prove he belongs in the NHL. "I'm trying to build my own game at the pro level," he said. "I've found things that work for me. I've just got to build off them and continue to work on my all-around game." 92/5/2009
