|(5/8/16) Jaskin scored the game-winning goal in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Stars in Game 4 of their second-round playoff series. He skated on the fourth line, getting 7:26 of ice time.|
Jaskin, who had just four goals in 65 regular-season games, had been a healthy scratch since the next-to-last game of the regular season. He was inserted into Saturday's lineup in place of Ryan Reaves and the move worked for head coach Ken Hitchcock, who's had a knack for making the right replacement. Earlier in the series, after St. Louis' listless Game 1 loss when they were out-hit by the Stars, the coach inserted Reaves for Steve Ott when the team needed to jump-start its aggressive id. After the Blues' loss in Game 4, a game in which the Stars acknowledged being motivated by Reaves' taunting them after Game 3, this looked like the obvious spot for Hitchcock to make a change.
