The Maple Leafs assigned Granberg to the Toronto Marlies of the AHL on Sunday, the team's official site reports.Granberg, who has yet to record a point in three games with the big club to date, returns to the Marlies, having recorded seven points and 18 penalty minutes in 29 AHL contests in 2014-15.

Granberg was recalled from the Marlies on Wednesday, Terry Koshan of The Toronto Sun reports.Granberg will return to the Leaf's roster as forward Joffrey Lupul deals with a lower-body injury this week. Granberg does not have significant fantasy value, however, as he is scoreless in three NHL games this season.

Granberg was sent back to AHL Toronto on Sunday.Granberg was an emergency recall prior to Saturday's contest as one of the blueliners was likely dealing with a minor ailment. He didn't play Saturday, meaning whoever it was felt good enough to play, and now Granberg will head back to the AHL and await another opportunity to resurface with the big club.

Granberg was recalled from AHL Toronto on Saturday on an emergency basis.Granberg's emergency promotion indicates at least one of the Leafs' defensemen sustained some type of injury in Friday's loss to the Devils and is uncertain to play. For now, Granberg will just be on hand as an insurance option, but he'll enter the lineup Saturday if another blueliner is indeed ruled out due to an injury.

Granberg was reassigned to AHL Toronto on Wednesday, James Mirtle of the Globe & Mail reports.The return of Stephane Robidas (upper body) cost Granberg a lineup spot Tuesday, and will now effectively result in his removal from the roster. Granberg was held off the score sheet while skating in three games for the Leafs.
