  • Lightning's Peter Budaj: Rides offense to win over Bruins

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/23/17) Budaj gave up three goals on 31 shots en route to a 6-3 road victory in Boston on Thursday.

Budaj hasn't seen a lot of run since being dealt to Tampa Bay, as this was just his fifth appearance. The win's nice for those who still own him in fantasy, but the Czech veteran's value has predictably taken a nosedive since Jonathan Quick's return made him expendable in Los Angeles.

Lightning's Peter Budaj: Will start against Boston

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/23/17) Budaj will defend the cage in Tuesday's clash with the Bruins, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Budaj will be making his third start and fifth appearance since joining the Lightning at the trade deadline. After a shaky debut in Tampa, the netminder was able to shut down the Rangers on March 13, allowing just two goals in a winning effort. The 34-year-old will face the difficult task of trying to contain the Brad Marchand-led Bruins, who score a lot of goals -- 19 in their last five -- and yet are bogged down in a three-game losing streak.

Lightning's Peter Budaj: Appears in relief

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/16/17) Budaj entered Thursday's game six minutes into the second period and allowed one goal on six shots in relief.

Starter Andrei Vasilevskiy took the loss -- the game ended 5-0 for Toronto. Budaj isn't likely to turn this performance into extra time in the blue paint. Vasilevskiy had been 6-0-1 over his last seven starts prior to Thursday.

Lightning's Peter Budaj: Makes 26 saves in first win with new team

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/13/17) Budaj made 26 saves in a 3-2 win over the Rangers on Monday night.

It was his first win in a Tampa uniform. Budaj has been getting plenty of rest in the Sunshine State -- he's gone from being a workhorse in Los Angeles to a rarely used backup behind Andrej Vasilevksiy. Spot-start value is the only gift he can give you at this point.

Lightning's Peter Budaj: Defending net Monday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/13/17) Budaj will guard the crease Monday against the Rangers, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Budaj struggled in his debut with the Lightning, allowing four goals on 34 shots. With the club scheduled for back-to-back contests Monday and Tuesday, he will give primary netminder Andrei Vasilevskiy a night off in the front end. Budaj receives a tough matchup against a Rangers club that's won three of its last four games.
