Ducks welcome back Christensen: The Ducks re-signed forward Erik Christensen to a one-year contract Wednesday. Christensen, 25, combined for 28 points (21 assists) in 2008-09 between Anaheim and the Thrashers. Christensen was acquired from the Thrashers in exchange for center Eric O’Dell March 4.

Fantasy Analysis

The Thrashers had high hopes for Christensen heading into '08-09 and thought he could end up being the team's primary top-line center. But he never found his groove under first-year coach John Anderson, suffered a shoulder injury and was then shipped to Anaheim. He didn't have much more success with the Ducks. Christensen has yet to play a whole season in the NHL and it looks as though he might miss some time in 2009-10, if he is slow to recover from offseason shoulder surgery. Christensen will be a low-end, injury-risk Fantasy flier Draft Day.
