Fantasy Analysis

Frolov led the Kings in goals with 32 last season, three off the career high he set in 2006-07. He also posted just 27 assists, the first time he failed to reach 30 since the 2003-04 season. Frolov, like many Kings, struggled offensively in 2008-09 as they adjusted to coach Terry Murray's defense-first approach. Perhaps Frolov would benefit from a Fantasy standpoint if he were to leave L.A. If he stays, consider Frolov more of a No. 3 or No. 4 Fantasy forward Draft Day.

LW Alexander Frolov continues to be a popular name brought up in trade rumors, largely because Frolov's contract is set to expire in the summer of 2010 and the Kings aren't sure if they will be able to ink him to a long-term extension. The Kings have been tied, through rumor and innuendo, to almost every big-name player on the trade market this summer, and Frolov's name is usually included in potential trade scenarios. During the week leading up to the draft, Lombardi downplayed talks that the Kings would trade for Ottawa's Dany Heatley, a deal that almost certainly would include Frolov. 62/9/2009

Russia scored on a power play with less than two minutes left Friday to beat the United States 3-2 in the semifinals of the ice hockey world championship. The defending champions will play in Sunday's final against Canada, which beat Sweden 3-1 to set up a rematch of last year's championship game.
