  • Ducks' Ryan Getzlaf: Hit with fine for obscene remark

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/20/17) Getzlaf has been assessed a $10,000 fine for his homophobic slur during Game 4 against the Predators, Frank Seravalli of TSN reports.

This is reportedly the largest fine possible under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and unequivocally an unwanted distraction for the Ducks as they attempt to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals. Getzlaf needs to stay focused, as he went off for three assists in Game 2, but sandwiched that effort with box-score goose eggs for the three other playoff contests against the Preds.

Ducks' Ryan Getzlaf: Collects trio of assists in Game 2

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/15/17) Getzlaf picked up three assists in Sunday's Game 2 win over the Predators.

Getzlaf was held off the scoresheet in Game 1, but he made sure to make an offensive impact in Game 2. The top-line center has had a fantastic postseason, racking up eight goals and 18 points through 13 games. He'll be challenged this round against a well-rounded Nashville blue line, but if Sunday is any indication, Getzlaf is well on his way to having another strong series.

Ducks' Ryan Getzlaf: Continues Conn Smythe-worthy run

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/6/17) Getzlaf scored a third-period goal and assisted on the game-winning tally in double overtime against Edmonton on Friday.

This was Getzlaf's third consecutive multiple-point game and sixth in nine playoff outings, and he's up to eight goals and 15 points in the postseason. The veteran has established himself as the Conn Smythe frontrunner at this stage of the spring. Obviously, the award won't be handed out for another month, but Getzlaf has put his club on his back and produced at an elite level. Perhaps the Anaheim captain senses this might be his last chance to win another Cup, because he's certainly playing like it.

Ducks' Ryan Getzlaf: Takes over Game 4

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/4/17) Getzlaf recorded two goals and two assists along with a plus-4 rating during Wednesday's Game 4 overtime win over Edmonton.

With the Ducks down 2-0, Getzlaf took over Game 4 in the second period, compiling his first three points. He then assisted on the game-winning tally in overtime. Dating back to March 1, Getzlaf has 11 goals and 40 points through 26 games, and Wednesday's multi-point outing was his fifth such effort of the postseason, giving him 13 points in eight playoff contests.

Ducks' Ryan Getzlaf: Puts up multi-point effort in Game 3

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/1/17) Getzlaf scored his second goal of the series and added an assist in Sunday's Game 3 win over the Oilers.

Getzlaf hasn't been shooting much this season, but he showed with a lethal snipe Sunday why he should be firing more pucks on net. The veteran now has five goals this postseason, with three of those coming in his past four games. He's still an elite offensive producer who has the potential of playing a key role in this series. The Ducks will continue to rely on their captain as they try to claw back from a 2-1 series deficit.
