Picard to battle for blue-line job: The Sports Xchange reports Senators D Alexandre Picard missed the last 21 games of the 2008-09 season with a knee injury but will be healthy when camp rolls around. Picard should be in battle for a job with the likes of Chris Campoli, Brendan Bell, Brian Lee and Christoph Schubert.

Picard came to Ottawa in the trade that sent Andrej Meszaros to the Lightning prior to last season. He had one of the more productive seasons in his career, with a career-high six goals and 14 points in 47 games. All six of his scores came on the power play. Picard will likely make the roster as a vital power-play contributor, but still has minimal Fantasy appeal Draft Day 2009.
