Richards' shoulders had bothered him since training camp and he used anti-inflammatory medication to manage the pain. He had 30 goals and 80 points this season in helping the Flyers reach the playoffs. Richards still did pretty well despite the pain, so having the surgery can only help. Richards is hoping to be ready by training camp and there might be some injury-risk on Draft Day 2009, but he still has high-end Fantasy potential when healthy.
