Will Tambellini ever mature in NHL?: The Sports Xchange reports Islanders LW Jeff Tambellini wasn't a disappointment to those who didn't think he could put up big numbers at the NHL level. But the Islanders have to wonder if it's ever going to happen at this level for the former first-round pick and AHL scoring whiz after Tambellini had just seven goals and 15 points in 65 games in 2008-09.

He has proven too good for the minors, but the Islanders don't want to send him back because he can't help them much if he never proves to be more than a Quadruple-A player. Tambellini is entering the final year of his contract and the 2009-10 season could be make or break. Still, he is going to be a very low-end Fantasy reserve to begin the year.
