  • Avalanche's John Mitchell: Will play Tuesday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(12/1/15) Mitchell (oblique) will play Tuesday against the Devils, Marc Moser of the Altitude Radio Network reports.

Mitchell has missed 11 of the Avalanche's last 13 games with an oblique injury, but has finally recovered from the ailment, and will return to game action Tuesday against New Jersey. The 30-year-old center has been relatively productive when healthy this season, potting five goals in 13 games. He will likely return to a bottom-six role in Tuesday's tilt.

Avalanche's John Mitchell: Likely to return Tuesday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(11/30/15) Coach Patrick Roy indicated Monday that Mitchell (oblique) will likely return to the lineup Tuesday, Terry Frei of the Denver Post reports.

Mitchell's oblique injury has held him out for most of the month of November, but it looks as though that absence could come to an end Tuesday. As a result of the news, Mitchell can effectively ruled out for Monday's contest, but the forward's return will be welcomed and should shore up the Avalanche's bottom six.

(11/25/15) Mitchell (oblique) remains day-to-day, Terry Frei of The Denver Post reports.

Mitchell has missed eight of the past 10 games and it seems that he's all but ruled out for Wednesday's home contest against the Senators. The 30-year-old has five goals representing his only points thus far in 2015-16.

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(11/23/15) Mitchell (oblique) will miss Monday's contest against the Jets, Mike Chambers of the Denver Post reports.

It will be the eighth time out of the last 10 games Mitchell will be held out of the lineup with the oblique injury, as Chris Wagner will continue to fill in during his absence. His next chance to suit back up will come Wednesday against the Senators.

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Mitchell has now missed six of Colorado's last eight games with an oblique injury. Recently acquired Chris Wagner will once again draw into the Avalanche's lineup for Thursday's contest in Mitchell's absence. His next chance to return to action will come Saturday against Washington.

  • March 29, 2015: Avs' Mitchell Gets Goal In Second Straight
Mitchell tallied a goal in Saturday's win over the Sabres, marking the second straight game he's found twine.Mitchell has been seeing more frequent top-six minutes of late, making him a bit more interesting in the fantasy realm. However, until he maintains the level of production he's shown over the last two games for a longer period of time, Mitchell probably won't notice a massive surge in his ownership rates.
