  • Predators' Pekka Rinne: Drops tough one to Canucks

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/18/17) Rinne allowed a single goal on 26 shots but it wasn't enough in a 1-0 loss to the Canucks on Tuesday.

Ryan Miller was just a tad better in the opposing blue paint, turning aside all 30 shots to blank the Preds. Rinne has been quite dependable since the calendar flipped to 2017, as evidenced by his stingy 1.63 GAA and impressive .946 save percentage through six starts, and makes for an above-average play right now in both seasonal and daily contests.

Predators' Pekka Rinne: Expected starter Tuesday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/17/17) Rinne is on track to start Tuesday night's matchup in Vancouver, Adam Vingan of the Tennessean reports.

While he has not been officially confirmed by a team official just yet, all signs point to Rinne getting his second straight start Tuesday, though we'll be sure to correct it if surging youngster Juuse Saros snags the start instead. Rinne has looked great lately after putting up disappointing numbers earlier in the season, allowing just three goals on 60 shots on his way to two consecutive wins.

Predators' Pekka Rinne: Makes 28 saves in win

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/14/17) Rinne made 28 saves in a 3-2 win over the Avalanche on Saturday.

Rinne earned the game's first star for his performance, which included some 10-bell saves. The fantastic Finn has now won three of his last four starts and has allowed just seven goals in that span. Rinne is starting to look a bit more like the Pekka of old and that's great news for his owners.

Predators' Pekka Rinne: Starting Saturday in Colorado

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/14/17) Rinne will guard the cage in Saturday's road game against the Avalanche, Adam Vingan of The Tennessean reports.

Rinne has played well of late, posting a 2-1-1 record with an impressive 1.69 GAA and .946 save percentage over his last four appearances. The 34-year-old netminder will look to keep rolling in a highly favorable road matchup with an Avalanche team that's only averaging 2.00 goals per game at home this season, worst in the NHL.

Predators' Pekka Rinne: Saves 29, picks up OT win

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/11/17) Rinne stopped 29 of 30 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 overtime win against Vancouver.

A shorthanded goal by Calle Jarnkrok with two seconds left in overtime ended this contest in spectacular fashion after Rinne blew his shutout bid (and allowed the Canucks to tie the game) with just 49 seconds left in the third period. There have been a number of bumps in the road this year, but the Finn is on the upswing right now, having gone 2-1-1 with a 1.69 GAA and .946 save mark over his last four starts.

Rinne led the Predators on the ice for warmups and will receive the start in goal Thursday against the Wild.Rinne will look to put a stop to a three-game losing streak and enter the postseason with some positive momentum. April 4, 2015: Preds' Rinne Allows Four Goals In Loss
Rinne allowed four goals on 24 shots in Saturday's loss to the Stars.Another poor showing from Rinne, who has allowed eight goals in his last two games. He still owns an impressive 41-15-6 record on the season, but the Predators are likely hoping the 32-year-old can finish the regular season strong before heading into the postseason. With a .924 save percentage and 2.15 GAA, Rinne should still be rolled out with confidence every game. He's sure to bounce back.
