Series MVP
Rangers C Scott Gomez

Gomez
In addition to being a consistent and clutch playoff performer, Gomez also gave New York a slight mental edge over rival New Jersey, which declined to sign the center during the offseason. Big mistake. The all-star contributed three goals and five assists in the series. He set the tone in Game 1 with three assists, scored twice in a crucial Game 4 win and added another tally in the Rangers' series-clinching victory.
