1992. ... The Penguins became the first team in professional
sports since the 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates to capture a
final-round Game 7 victory on the road. Leading up to Friday's
contest, the home team had an 18-0 record. ... Pittsburgh also
became the first team since the 1971 Montreal Canadiens to win
Game 7 on the road after the home team captured each of the
first six contests. ... Pittsburgh C Sidney Crosby became the
youngest team captain to hoist the Stanley Cup. ... Crosby on
his first Cup title: "It's unbelievable. It's the stuff you

The regular season scoring leader also dominated in the playoffs
with 14 goals and 22 assists for a league-leading 36 points. The
center was held without a point in just six games and registered
10 multiple-point games. Malkin becomes the first player since
Mario Lemieux in 1992 to capture both the regular season and
postseason scoring titles. He is the second European and first
Russian player to capture the award.
