Hurricanes' Nolan returns to Albany after another brief stay
RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Carolina Hurricanes sent center Brandon Nolan back to their American Hockey League affiliate, one day after calling him up from Albany on an emergency basis.
Nolan, the 24-year-old son of New York Islanders coach Ted Nolan, played nearly six minutes during Thursday night's 4-1 loss to New Jersey, his fifth career NHL game.
It was his third stint of the season -- and second this month -- with the Hurricanes, who called him up Jan. 3, sent him back Tuesday and then recalled him before Thursday night's game. He also played two games with Carolina in December.
