ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Center Brendan Morrison, who has had 50-plus points in six of the past seven NHL seasons, signed a one-year contract with the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday.
The 32-year-old Morrison played in 542 consecutive games for Vancouver from 2000-07 before wrist and knee injuries limited him to 39 games with the Canucks last season.
"Brendan Morrison is a solid veteran with excellent foot speed," Ducks general manager Brian Burke said Tuesday. "He's an intelligent hockey player and is a tremendous addition to our top six forward group."
The 5-foot-11, 181-pound Morrison has appeared in 674 games, with 159 goals and 315 assists. He was among the Canucks' top four scorers five of the past seven seasons. He had nine goals and 16 assists during his injury-abbreviated 2007-08 season.
A member of the University of Michigan's 1996 NCAA championship team, Morrison was selected by New Jersey with the 39th overall pick in the 1993 entry draft. He played his first full season for the Devils in 1998-99 and was traded to Vancouver on March 14, 2000.
