PRAGUE, Czech Republic -- Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Jaroslav Modry is leaving the NHL and returning to the Czech Republic to play for HC Liberec.
The Czech club said on its website Thursday that the 37-year-old Modry signed a two-year deal but gave no further details.
Modry was first drafted by the New Jersey Devils when he was 19. He played 725 NHL regular-season games, scoring 49 goals and had 201 assists.
Modry then briefly played for Liberec in the 2004-05 season before returning to the NHL with the Flyers.
