Regehr leaves Flames to be with wife in labor

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Flames defenseman Robyn Regehr left the team before its season-opening game in Vancouver on Thursday night after his wife went into labor back in Calgary.

Regehr and his wife, Christina, are expecting their first child.

Regehr, who was third among Flames defensemen with five goals, 20 points and a plus-11 rating last season, is expected to rejoin the team for the rematch with the Canucks on Saturday night in Calgary.
