- Pavol Demitra, Canucks, scored twice in Vancouver's 3-1 win at Pittsburgh.

- Joey MacDonald, Islanders, made 35 saves in his 10th straight start to lift New York to a 4-2 road victory over Buffalo.

- Patrick Sharp, Blackhawks, scored two goals, to help Chicago to a comeback victory over the host Toronto Maple Leafs.

- Rookie goalie Steve Mason, Blue Jackets, made only 15 saves but earned his first NHL shutout in Columbus' 2-0 win at Atlanta.

- Brad Boyes, Blues, had two goals in St. Louis' 2-1 win at Minnesota.
