Avalanche recall defenseman Cumiskey from AHL team in Lake Erie

DENVER -- The Colorado Avalanche placed forward Darcy Tucker on injured reserve on Tuesday with a knee injury he suffered against the Anaheim Ducks the night before.

He's expected to be sidelined for about four weeks.

The Avalanche recalled defenseman Kyle Cumiskey from Lake Erie of the American Hockey League.

Cumiskey leads all Monster defensemen in scoring with eight points -- one goal and seven assists -- in 16 games. He was recalled by the Avalanche Nov. 6 and appeared in one game before being reassigned.

During the 2007-08 season, Cumiskey appeared in 38 games with the Avalanche, getting five assists.
