Blue Jackets activate Dorsett for Sharks game

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Columbus Blue Jackets activated forward Derek Dorsett off injured reserve on Wednesday before hosting the San Jose Sharks at night.

Dorsett had missed the past nine games with a broken right ring finger.

The 21-year-old has one goal and one assist and 63 penalty minutes in 12 games with the Blue Jackets this season. He also has one goal and five assists in seven games with the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.

Dorsett was Columbus' ninth pick and the 189th selection overall in the 2006 draft. He spent the 2007-08 season with Syracuse, getting 10 goals and eight assists with 289 penalty minutes in 64 games.
