The Montreal Canadiens will host their 14th All-Star Game Sunday at the Bell Center. Below is a summary of the previous contests, all held at the storied Montreal Forum.

All-Star Games in Montreal
1937 - Howie Morenz Memorial Game
NHL All-Stars 6, Montreal All-Stars 5
The second All-Star Game in league history honored Canadiens' center Howie Morenz, 34, who suffered a heart attack earlier in the year. The game pitted a combined squad of former Canadiens and Montreal Maroons players, including "King" Clancy, the former Maroons coach, who made his final appearance as a player. Charlie Conacher, Cecil Dillon and Johnny Gotselig netted a goal and an assist each for the NHL All-Stars, while Johnny Gagnon posted two goals and an assist for the Montreal All-Stars.
1939 - Babe Siebert Memorial Game
NHL All-Stars 5, Montreal Canadiens 2
The tragic drowning of Canadiens coach "Babe" Siebert prompted a fundraising memorial game to assist his family. The Canadian Press chose the NHL All-Star squad, which included Eddie Shore and "Busher" Jackson, the only players to play in the previous two All-Star contests. "King" Clancy officiated the game. Syl Apps registered a goal and three assists for the NHL.
1953 - 7th NHL All-Star Game
NHL All-Stars 3, Montreal Canadiens 1
This year, the NHL reverted to the game's original form, matching the Stanley Cup champions against a squad of the NHL's top stars. New York Rangers right wing Wally Hergesheimer scored two power-play goals -- including the eventual game-winner -- in the first 5:25 of the contest. Maurice Richard pulled the Canadiens within one with four and a half minutes into the third period, but Detroit's Alex Delvecchio sealed the NHL's win with an empty net goal, the first in All-Star Game history.
1956 - 10th NHL All-Star Game
NHL All-Stars 1, Montreal Canadiens 1
Montreal's Maurice Richard and Detroit's Ted Lindsay, each making their 10th consecutive All-Star appearance, provided all the scoring. Richard put the Canadiens ahead with a power-play tally at 14:58 of the second period, but Lindsay responded with a tying goal a little less than four minutes later.
1957 - 11th NHL All-Star Game
NHL All-Stars 5, Montreal Canadiens 3
The focus of this contest was the reunion of Detroit's famed "Production Line" of Gordie Howe, Sid Abel and Ted Lindsay, who joined the Chicago Blackhawks in an offseason trade. It also marked Lindsay's 11th and final All-Star Game. Howe posted the lone point among the trio when he broke a 3-3 tie in the third period with a power-play goal.
1958 - 12th NHL All-Star Game
Montreal Canadiens 6, NHL All-Stars 3
Maurice Richard and his brother, Henri, teamed up for three goals and two assists to lift the Canadiens to their first All-Star Game victory. Montreal fans received a scare when Detroit's "Red" Kelly collided with Canadiens sniper Bernie "Boom Boom" Geoffrion, who collapsed to the ice. Geoffrion left the game with pulled muscles in his chest and neck.
1959 - 13th NHL All-Star Game
Montreal Canadiens 6, NHL All-Stars 1
Jacques Plante provided the memorable moments for this All-Star classic, and not because he announced prior to the game his intention to don a fiberglass mask during the season. The netminder played the full 60 minutes, allowed just one goal and turned away 34 shots. The contest marked the end of Maurice Richard's All-Star career, and ironically, the beginning of Frank Mahovlich's. The long-time Maple Leaf would go on to appear in 15 straight All-Star Games and break Richard's record (13).
1960 - 14th NHL All-Star Game
NHL All-Stars 2, Montreal Canadiens 1
A now-masked Jacques Plante went the distance for the fifth straight contest, but ended up on the losing end of this one. With Bobby Hull, who was making his All-Star debut, in the box for holding, New York Rangers winger Andy Hebenton netted the shorthanded game-winner.
1965 - 19th NHL All-Star Game
NHL All-Stars 5, Montreal Canadiens 2
The Canadiens build a two-goal lead on strikes by Jean Beliveau and Jacques Laperriere, but Gordie Howe rallies the NHL All-Stars with a four-point effort. "Mr. Hockey" sets up the first two goals for the NHL squad, then chips in the eventual game-winner with 41 seconds left in the second period. Howe adds a shorthanded strike in the final two minutes of the game.
1967 - 20th NHL All-Star Game
Montreal Canadiens 3, NHL All-Stars 0
Montreal's Charlie Hodge and Gary Bauman team up to stop 35 shots for the first and only shutout in All-Star Game history. Game MVP Henri Richard records the only goal the Canadiens needed with a little less than six minutes to go in the first period. John Ferguson provides the other two goals for Montreal. The contest is the first since the Ace Bailey Benefit Game in 1934 to be held in mid-season. It is the 13th and final All-Star appearance for Detroit's Alex Delvecchio.
1969 - 22nd NHL All-Star Game
West Division 3, East Division 3
The NHL abandons its format of pitting league stars against the Stanley Cup champion in favor of an West Division-East Division faceoff. Bobby and Dennis Hull appear at the All-Star Game together for the first time, while Jean Beliveau and Doug Harvey make their 13th and final All-Star appearances. Coaching legend "Toe" Blake comes out of retirement to coach the East squad. Scotty Bowman, then coach of the St. Louis Blues, makes his coaching debut. Detroit's Frank Mahovlich scores two come-from-behind goals and becomes the first player in league history to capture the MVP award twice.
1975 - 28th NHL All-Star Game
Wales Conference 7, Campbell Conference 1
Once again, the Montreal Forum is the site of a new All-Star format to reflect the league's realignment. MVP Syl Apps Jr. scores twice and Guy Lafleur, making his All-Star debut, tallies three assists for the Wales Conference. Islanders defenseman Denis Potvin scores the Campbell Conference's only goal.
1993 - 44th NHL All-Star Game
Wales Conference 16, Campbell Conference 6
In what would become the final All-Star Game at the Montreal Forum, New York Rangers forward Mike Gartner, a last-minute replacement for teammate Mark Messier, posts four goals in one of the highest-scoring matchups in history. Gartner completes the hat trick within the first 12 minutes of the contest and Adam Oates records four assists in the first period. The Wales Conference builds a 9-0 lead before Chicago's Jeremy Roenick finally puts the Campbell Conference on the board. Also, three records which stand today are set during Saturday's skills competition. Washington's Al Iafrate wins the hardest shot event with a 105.2 mph slap shot, Boston's Ray Bourque retains his accuracy shooting title with a 4-for-4 effort and Gartner flies around the rink in 13.51 seconds to win the fastest skater event.
