Blue Jackets activate winger Chimera off IR

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Columbus Blue Jackets activated left wing Jason Chimera off injured reserve after he missed 16 games with a groin injury.

General manager Scott Howson said Chimera was expected to be available for the game Tuesday night against the Detroit Red Wings.

The 29-year-old Chimera, who has been practicing at both center and wing, has seven goals and 11 assists in 31 games this season.
