Coyotes activate Jovanovski, Michalek from injured reserve
GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Phoenix Coyotes have activated defensemen Ed Jovanovski and Zbynek Michalek off injured reserve.
Jovanovski, a five-time NHL all-star, has five goals and eight assists in 16 games, making him the leading scorer among Phoenix defensemen. He has missed the last eight games because of a lower-body injury.
Michalek, with a goal and four assists in 15 games, sat out the last nine games, also because of a lower-body injury.
In another move, the Coyotes reassigned defenseman Shaun Heshka to their American Hockey League affiliate in San Antonio.
