TORONTO -- The Toronto Maple Leafs assigned forward Matt Frattin and defenseman Korbinian Holzer to the American Hockey League on Friday.

Frattin appeared in 37 games for the Leafs this season, with five goals and 10 points. Holzer hasn't played in the NHL this season despite being called up on two occasions.

The moves came with forward Mike Brown (lower body) and defenseman Mike Komisarek (broken arm) expected back from injury for Saturday's game against Detroit.

Captain Dion Phaneuf is also expected to be ready for the game against the Red Wings, coach Ron Wilson said after practice Friday.

Phaneuf left a pool of blood on the ice during Thursday's win over Winnipeg after taking a shot off the side of the face.

"Dion's resting at home," Wilson said. "There's no breaks or anything like that. We list him as a day to day, but I actually expect him to play tomorrow."
