Capitals' Laich plays two days after knee injury

  •

WASHINGTON -- Brooks Laich played for the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night, just two days after hurting his left knee.

Laich skated well during the team's warm-up session and was on the bench for the start of Washington's game against Florida, a matchup for first place in the Southeast Division. He entered at 2:07 of the first period.

Laich was on crutches and wearing a knee brace after he was rammed into the boards during the second period of Sunday's loss to the Boston Bruins. He did not practice Monday.

Laich has missed only four games over the past five years, including all 53 this season.

He started the night with 10 goals, 18 assists and 12 penalty minutes.
