Boston snaps three-game skid

--By winning Saturday, the B's avoided their first three-game home losing streak since Nov. 6, 11 and 13, 2010. The last time they lost four in a row at home was when they dropped 10 straight on Garden ice, from Jan. 7 through March 10, 2010.

--Goalie Tim Thomas continued to be in the news off the ice. This time, after his most-recent political comments, he got into it with the local media trying to get him to comment.

After repeatedly saying he didn't want to comment on non-hockey matters, even "pleading the fifth" at one point, he warned one more question would be met by him leaving. The question came and he left.

"I Stand with the Catholics in the fight for Religious Freedom," Thomas said on Facebook, triggering the latest storm.

In his meeting with the media that followed, he kept saying, "I say that's my personal life and that has absolutely nothing to do with the Bruins or hockey and I'm going to use my right to remain silent."

Asked if he had any other views to share with the media, he said, "If I do, I'll do that in my personal life and not in this arena."

--The Bruins are 6-6-1 in their last 13 games, 10-8-1 in their last 19.

--The B's are 6-1 in shootouts, 7-2 in games decided in extra time.

--Center Patrice Bergeron's shorthanded goal Saturday was the club's seventh of the season.

--The Bruins Foundation was holding its annual "Casino Night" Sunday night.
