Buffalo falls short at home
--The Sabres suffered their first regulation loss at home since Dec. 10. They were on a 6-0-4 run before their 2-1 loss to Tampa Bay. The Sabres started the season 6-9-2 in Buffalo before their points surge.
--Sabres rookie Luke Adam has quickly made the move from All-Star weekend participant to minor-leaguer. The Sabres have sent the center to Rochester of the American Hockey League following a slump of 20 games without a point. He is fourth on the Sabres with 10 goals and was one of 12 rookies selected for the All-Star Skills Challenge. "He needs to go play a lot of minutes, he needs to get back on the scoresheet," Buffalo coach Lindy Ruff said. "I don't think this is unlike a lot of young players. It's been a tough stretch for him."
QUOTE TO NOTE
