Methot likely out rest of season
--The news on defenseman Marc Methot remains bad: He's almost certain to miss the rest of the season after surgery to repair a fractured jaw. Methot had surgery on Friday in Columbus, according to The Columbus Dispatch. Two plates were screwed into the left side of his jaw to repair two fractures after he was struck with the puck on Friday against Dallas. His jaw will be wired shut for up to five weeks.
--With Curtis Sanford sidelined with another bout of back spasms, the Blue Jackets have turned to goaltender Steve Mason for the indefinite future. Mason had 34 saves on Saturday in Xcel Energy Center, earning his first win since Dec. 29. It was only his second road win of the season.
