Malkin makes it look easy
When the Winnipeg Jets last played in Pittsburgh, Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr each recorded four assists. Evgeni Malkin made sure history repeated itself.
Malkin produced four assists and added his 30th goal of the season while leading the Penguins to an 8-5 win over the Jets at Consol Energy Center on Saturday.
This marks Malkin's third five-point game of the season and he leads the league with 67 points. The Russian superstar has scored a goal in seven consecutive home games.
All four of Malkin's helpers were primary assists. He set up goals by right wing James Neal and left wing Chris Kunitz, and he set up both of defenseman Kris Letang's goals.
Malkin's 30th goal of the season was a beauty. He received a pass from Kunitz and scored on a breakaway.
Malkin will look to extend his lead in the NHL scoring race Sunday when the Penguins host Tampa Bay.
