Perron putting concussion behind him
--The Blues' nine-day layoff during NHL All-Star break appears to have helped forward David Perron more than any player. Perron, who missed 97 games recovering from post-concussion syndrome, has five goals in his last three games. "Before the break, I was still thinking about my (concussion) injury a lot," Perron said. "Not that I'm not anymore, but I think I kind of turned the page a little bit there. That (All-Star) break was really good for me. Now I'm kind of going out there and thinking more about hockey than anything else. I heard from guys before that it took them three months, I heard that they've taken five months. Hopefully I'm at that three-month mark."
--Center Patrik Berglund has been too hard on himself at times this season. But after failing to meet offensive expectations, Berglund has been one of the team's top players lately. After scoring the game-tying goal in the third period of Thursday's 4-3 shootout win over New Jersey, he assisted on the game-winner in Saturday's 3-2 OT victory over Colorado. "I think, and they said too, that I'm my own worst enemy," Berglund said. "I'm standing in my own way sometimes and I just can't let things get to me so easy. I told them if I get down on myself too much, let me know if it's the middle of the game or whatever so I can bounce back. It's a part of hockey, a lot of feelings involved ... but I'm doing my best."
QUOTE TO NOTE
"You take Andy McDonald and Alex Steen and add them to our lineup and it's better than any trade or acquisition we can make. They're two great players and when they come back in our lineup, we'll be rolling on all cylinders and we'll be scary." -- RW Chris Stewart, on the potential addition of two teammates.
