Shoulder healed, Streit is scoring
--D Mark Streit has needed more than half the season to regain his offensive sharpness after missing all of the previous one following shoulder surgery. But the Isles captain scored for the second straight game Saturday, weaving through the Los Angeles defense for a 1-on-4 goal in overtime for a 2-1 win over the Kings.
"It took me a while to adjust," Streit said. "I was away for a year and a half. The first 40 games were kind of a bumpy ride. Lately, it's been way better. It's starting to come back together again."
--Former Isles captain Kenny Jonsson was inducted into the team's Hall of Fame in a pre-game ceremony. The longtime defenseman played nine seasons for the Isles and was named to the All-Star team in 1999. The steady Swede was the fourth former player to be inducted this year as part of the team's 40th anniversary season, joining Ed Westfall, Ken Morrow and Patrick Flatley.
QUOTE TO NOTE
"It's certainly not a goal I score every day. I was going against four guys and I didn't really know what to do. I tried to go through them and luckily enough it worked out." Mark Streit, after his 1-on-4 goal lifted the Isles to a 2-1 overtime win Saturday over Los Angeles.
