Fedotenko out again with head injury
--LW Ruslan Fedotenko skated Tuesday morning but missed his second straight game after he was shouldered in the head by Tampa Bay's Dominic Moore on Feb 9. The veteran winger said he was "angry" and "disappointed" that the NHL only fined Moore $2,500 for the hit.
"I felt like the puck wasn't near me at all so I didn't really expect that hit, so I think that's why it happened," Fedotenko said. "We're trying to take these kind of plays away from the game so we don't have any kind of concussions and hurt each other. It's -- I don't know what to say -- it's too bad. I'm sure he was maybe not intend(ing) to hurt (me), but I'm sure he was going after me, because I hit him right before that. But whatever his intent is, it's too bad."
--RW Ryan Callahan is just 24, but the first-year captain has impressed veteran newcomer Brad Richards with his ability to lead the Rangers on and off the ice this season.
"He's a second-, third-, fourth-effort guy who leads by example, you know what I mean?" Richards told the New York Post. "He's not a rah-rah guy, he's not 38 years old with 18 years of experience. But all our guys follow him, and we follow him because night in and night out, his level of effort is always going to be the highest of anybody on the ice for both sides."
QUOTE TO NOTE
"I thought we defended really well, but that's all we did and then when we had breakdowns, Hank was there. Henrik should have six hats on tonight." -- Coach John Tortorella, after Tuesday's 3-0 win in Boston, referring to G Henrik Lundqvist and the so-called "Broadway Hat" worn after each win by the Rangers' player of the game.
