PLAYER NOTES

--C Shawn Matthias scored his 10th goal of the season as he continues to have his best career offensive numbers. Matthias has four points (1-3-4) in his past four games and 22 points off 10 goals in 55 games this season.

--D Mike Weaver had an assist on Matthias' goal and set a career high in scoring. All 14 of his points have come off assists.

--RW Sean Bergenheim scored Wednesday and has seven points (5-2-7) in his past eight games and 10 points (8-2-10) in his past 12.

--LW Tomas Fleischmann has a point in each of the past four games, with a goal and four assists. After going scoreless in eight straight, Fleischmann has nine points off three goals in his past nine games.

--D Brian Campbell has 36 assists to lead the Panthers this season, and that ranks ninth among all NHL players.

MEDICAL WATCH

--D Ed Jovanovski (hand) had surgery on Jan. 18. He is currently skating and could be back in the coming weeks.

--RW Scottie Upshall (sports hernia) had surgery on Feb. 2 and is expected to be out until the end of March at least.

--D Dmitry Kulikov (knee) had surgery on Jan. 23 and is out until March.

--LW Marco Sturm (knee) had surgery on Feb. 6 and is expected to be out until March.

--D Jason Garrison (lower body) was injured Feb. 11 and is out until next week.
