Weight fills in for ailing Capuano

  •

--Head coach Jack Capuano missed Tuesday's 2-1 loss in Buffalo with the flu that's been going around the locker room. He was replaced by assistant coach and former captain Doug Weight.

"I handled the 10-year-olds just a couple of weeks ago," Weight told Newsday, referring to his son's hockey team. "I'm sure there will be some overwhelming instances, but I'm comfortable with it. ... What you have to do this time of year is realize there's adversity and you have to react better."

--P.A. Parenteau regretted being ejected from Monday's 6-0 loss to Ottawa for arguing with referee Gord Dwyer.

"I have to check my emotions at the door," Parenteau said. "I can't be in the box for 10 minutes and then get thrown out."

QUOTE TO NOTE
"We have to find our swagger offensively, somehow. We've got 22 games to go, 44 points available to us. We know how we play when things are going well." -- Assistant coach Doug Weight, after a 2-1 loss Tuesday in Buffalo.
