PLAYER NOTES

--RW Marian Gaborik's first goal in nine games was an immense one, connecting with 5:19 remaining in triple-overtime of a 2-1 Game 3 victory Wednesday in Washington. Gaborik, who also had a team-high seven shots on goal, hadn't scored since Game 1 of the Rangers' seven-game win over Ottawa in the first round.

--RW Ryan Callahan also scored in the second period for the Rangers, his third goal of the playoffs but first in the last six games, dating back to Game 4 of the previous round against Ottawa. Callahan also had five shots on goal in 41:48 of ice time.

--D Michael Del Zotto assisted on Callahan's goal, giving him three points in the last two games. It also was announced that a goal from Game 2 of the series -- originally credited to Callahan -- was changed officially and awarded to Del Zotto.

MEDICAL WATCH

--C Brandon Dubinsky (lower body) sat out his third straight game Wednesday against Washington with an undisclosed lower-body injury suffered April 26 in Game 7 of the first round against Ottawa.

--D Michael Sauer (concussion) remains out indefinitely with a concussion suffered Dec. 5.

--RW Mats Zuccarello (wrist) suffered a fractured left wrist March 23 and will be sidelined indefinitely.
