Flyers' Giroux, Briere to play in Germany
Philadelphia Flyers centers Claude Giroux and Daniel Briere will play in Berlin for the remainder of the NHL lockout, according to ESPN.com.
The big-name Canadians signed with Eisbaren Berlin of Germany. Giroux was third in the NHL in scoring last season with 93 points (28 goals and 65 assists).
Also, Flyer Matt Read, who had 47 points last season, will play in Sweden and New Jersey Devil Anton Volchenkov signed to play in his native Russia.
