Leafs' Quinn, Wings' Lewis to coach All-Star Game

NEW YORK -- Pat Quinn of the Toronto Maple Leafs will coach the Eastern Conference team, and Dave Lewis of the Detroit Red Wings will lead the Western Conference squad at next month's NHL All-Star Game.

Philadelphia coach Ken Hitchcock will join Quinn behind the Eastern bench, and Vancouver's Marc Crawford will assist Lewis for the Western team on Feb. 8 in St. Paul, Minn.

The head coaches and assistants for the All-Star teams are the head coaches of the teams with the top points percentages in their respective conferences.

The Maple Leafs lead the Eastern Conference with a points percentage of .663, posting 57 points in 43 games (23-9-8-3). The Flyers are at .655 with 55 points in 42 games (20-7-10-5).

Lewis' Red Wings are first in the Western Conference with a points percentage of .648, recording 57 points in 44 games (26-13-4-1), while the Canucks are at .643 with 54 points in 42 games (23-11-6-2).
