Sharks, Canadiens swap minor league Ds Biron, Traverse
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The San Jose Sharks traded minor league defenseman Mathieu Biron to the Montreal Canadiens on Friday for Patrick Traverse.
Biron, 26, had 18 points in 24 games AHL games with Worcester this season. He has 12 goals, 32 assists and 177 penalty minutes in 253 NHL games with the Islanders, Tampa, Florida and Washington.
Traverse, 32, had one goal and four assists in 26 games with the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs this season. He has 65 points and 113 penalty minutes in 279 NHL games with Ottawa, Anaheim, Boston, Montreal and Dallas.
