Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg scored in the shootout to lift Detroit to a 2-1 win over San Jose, snapping the Sharks' six-game winning streak. Zetterberg also had a goal in regulation. Even though Detroit trailed 1-0 late in the second period and early in the third, captain Nicklas Lidstrom said the Red Wings remained calm. They were rewarded when Zetterberg tied it 1-1 at 5:38 of the third period. He poked a puck in from under Evgeni Nabokov's pad for his fourth goal and third in four games.

Detroit G Chris Osgood would likely prefer to forget his loss on Saturday as it came against one of the worst teams in the league and the final score wasn't even close. Osgood allowed five goals and made 23 saves in a 5-1 loss to Toronto. Three of the goal scorers in the game for Toronto got their first goal of the year against Osgood.
