J.P. Dumont found the perfect way to make up for his giveaway that led to a Florida goal late in the second period. Dumont and David Legwand scored early in the third period, and Dan Ellis made 23 saves to help the Nashville Predators beat the Panthers 4-1 on Saturday night. Dumont made it 2-1 68 seconds into the third period, scoring off a rebound. With goalie Scott Clemmensen down, Dumont kicked the rebound onto his backhand before lifting the puck high to the stick side for his fifth goal of the season. "I knew I had time when I got the rebound," Dumont said. "I knew he was coming across and covering the bottom part of the net, and I just had to take my time. I had the top of the net wide open."

News
Predators G Pekka Rinne made 25 saves during a 5-0 loss to the Flames on Monday. After a scoreless first period, the Flames broke the deadlock 1:32 into the second period. David Moss took control of the puck in the neutral zone and skated in on a breakaway, beating Rinne to his right with a backhanded shot. A little over three minutes later Nigel Dawes struck on the power play. Jarome Iginla passed the puck from the right side along the extended goal line. Dawes, stationed in front of the crease, took a couple of swipes at it before putting it past Rinne, again to his right side. At the 8:09 of the third period the Flames struck again as Adam Pardy blasted a shot from the top of the slot that beat Rinne high to his left side. Curtis Glencross scored a short-handed goal at the 16:01 mark, finding the open net as the Predators pulled Rinne. Iginla scored on the power play to close out the scoring.
