News
Weber scored his 13th goal -- and 10th on the man advantage -- to go along with an assist Thursday in a 6-3 loss to Philadelphia.

Incredibly, this is the star blueliner's fourth career foray into double-digit power-play goals -- last year, only one blueliner (Oliver Ekman-Larsson) hit that mark, although Justin Faulk's actually leading Weber with a cool dozen this year. The Preds haven't had a good year, which has caused Weber's rating to take a plunge into career-worst territory, but he's simply too productive to let it get out of control. At 30 years old, he's not showing any signs of a real slowdown yet -- in fact, he's currently on pace to clear 50 points for the third time in his career.

News
Rinne will start in net at home Saturday night against the Sharks, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.

Rinne was shelled by the Flyers last Thursday, coughing up six goals on only 19 shots. Still, he managed to beat the Sharks on Oct. 28, a road start for which he recorded a .952 save percentage. The Sharks have averaged 2.90 goals per game between 50 contests, good for fourth in the NHL, so Rinne could find it tougher to solve Team Teal this time around.

News
Johansen broke up a brief slump Thursday with a goal, an assist and a plus-2 rating in a 6-3 loss to Philadelphia. He also won 16 of 19 faceoffs.

That adds up to a dominant effort from Johansen, but unfortunately, the Preds' other lines -- particularly the Mike Ribeiro-led second unit -- got undressed by the Flyers' offense. He'd been held off the board in three of the last four games coming in, but is still producing at a point-per-game pace since joining the Predators, and there's no reason he shouldn't be able to approximately maintain that pace down the stretch.

News
Josi picked up a power-play assist and an even-strength assist while going minus-1 Thursday in a loss to the Flyers.

While Josi's put up points with consistency all year long, he'd hit a bit of a cooling period prior to Thursday's effort, having put up just four points in his last 10 games and no multi-point efforts since Dec. 8. He and Shea Weber continue to patrol the territory in front of Pekka Rinne for big chunks of every game, but the goalie's reduced effectiveness this season has caused a plus-minus dip for both star defensemen.

News
Forsberg was held off the scoresheet along with the rest of his teammates in Tuesday's 1-0 loss to the Blues. He now has just one point in his last six games.

Forsberg also gave the puck away six times in this one - ouch - which gives him a team-leading 38 giveaways this season. Mind you, he's also tops on the Preds in takeaways with 39, so whatever mistakes he's making by handing the puck over, he does tend to steal it back just as much. In the bigger picture, Forsberg is now on pace for just 48 points this season, which would be a significant step back from the 63 he had last year. The good news is, he continues to skate on the Preds' first line with Ryan Johansen and James Neal, so he'll get every opportunity to get back on a scoring roll and hopefully finish the season on a strong note.
