News
Greiss denied 26 of 27 shots in Tuesday's 3-1 win over Detroit.

The lone goal on him was a power-play tally by Henrik Zetterberg with just one second remaining in the first period -- that's how close Greiss came to a shutout. He's been a picture of inconsistency lately, though, as Greiss has posted save percentages under .900 in five of his last eight starts; in the other three, he's given up just four total goals. The Isles need their goalie to regain his earlier dominant form as they try to claw their way to a playoff spot, but Greiss has a very limited track record as a No. 1 netminder, so there's a lot of uncertainty regarding what we can expect down the stretch.

News
Bailey opened the scoring with an unassisted goal and helped out on a John Tavares tally in Tuesday's 3-1 win over Detroit. He finished plus-2 with two PIM and three shots.

Bailey strung together a spectacular hot streak from mid-January into early February, ripping off 14 points in a span of 12 games. However, he'd gone cold since then, including just one point in seven games coming into Tuesday's action. Nonetheless, he continues to see heavy ice time (including on the power play), which certainly helps with breaking slumps, and playing alongside Tavares certainly never hurt anyone.

News
Tavares scored the game-winner in Sunday's 6-4 win over the Devils.

The former first-round pick went the past eight games without scoring a goal until Sunday. Still, that goal gives Tavares five points in the past five games. In addition, no offensive players on the Islanders see more ice time than Tavares, averaging 20:15 minutes per game. Heading into the thick of the playoff hunt, the 26-year-old will have the chance to be a valuable fantasy weapon.

News
Berube allowed four goals on 30 shots in a 6-4 victory over the Devils on Sunday.

The 25-year-old won the battle of the backup netminders. The Islanders and Devils also played Saturday in New Jersey, and both backups were in goal Sunday. The Islanders are mostly going with Thomas Greiss, so Berube has received very little work, but Berube has also failed to take advantage of his opportunities. Although he is 2-1-0 in February, his save percentage is a measly .876. Berube is only fantasy relevant in deeper leagues.

News
Cizikas will be out for four weeks with his upper-body injury, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

Given this extended absence for Cizikas, he'll be lucky to see a dozen games left on the regular-season schedule by the time he's ready to return. As it stands now, the Islanders on the outside looking into the playoffs, and it might be in GM Garth Snow's best interest to find a suitable replacement for Cizikas if he's serious about extending the team's 2016-17 campaign. A physical pivot, Cizikas had consistently been called upon in shorthanded situations -- averaging 2:12 of ice time in that spot -- so his loss is a detriment to an already weak penalty kill that ranks 23rd in the league with a 79.8-percent success rate.

Injuries
Upper Body - Day-to-Day (Updated - 2/16/17)
News
Prince (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.

While Prince is technically already eligible to return from IR since he was put on it retroactive to Feb. 12, the fact that he was sent there now doesn't inspire confidence that he might come back soon. The team hasn't established a timeline for his return, but the recall of winger Bracken Kearns on Wednesday also seems to indicate that it could be later rather than sooner.

Ryan Strome, # 18

News
Strome scored two goals and added a power-play assist in a 6-4 victory over the Devils on Sunday.

He hadn't registered a point in the last three games, but overall Strome has been masterful since returning from the All-Star Break. He has five goals and 11 points in the last 11 games. Prior to that, Strome had just six goals and 14 points the whole season. It's too late in the season to match his career highs from two years ago, but Strome is playing like his 2014-15 self. That's a huge boost for the Islanders and his fantasy owners.
