News
Mason stifled the Sabres on Thursday, stopping 41 of 42 shots en route to a 5-1 win.

The Flyers got outplayed badly in every period of this game but the middle one, so most of the credit for this one has to go to Mason. Philadelphia was outshot 14-6 in the first frame and 18-8 in the third, but Mason held the fort both times and took advantage of his team's four-goal second period to end his three-game losing streak. Mase still has a losing record on the year, having taken home only 13 wins in 34 starts, thanks to a Flyers offense that's rarely delivered the kind of energetic offensive performance we saw in this one.

News
Neuvirth (lower body) will be available as the backup to Steve Mason on Thursday night against the visiting Sabres, CSN's Tim Panaccio reports.

Neuvirth will be on hand for the first time since sustaining the lower-body injury in practice Feb. 1. In an apparent attempt to ease him back into the fold, Neuvy will watch Steve Mason make his sixth consecutive start Thursday. He's a fine complement to Mason based on a 2.14 GAA and .933 save percentage in 21 appearances this campaign.

News
Simmonds added a goal in Thursday's 5-1 drubbing of the Sabres.

That's goal number 20 for the lengthy winger, whose 36 points and 110 PIM are only dampened by his minus-7 rating. With just under 30 games to play, Simmer looks poised to surpass his totals from last year, but still fall short of career highs.

Jakub Voracek, # 93

News
Voracek collected an assist and two PIM in Thursday's 5-1 dulling of the Sabres.

Curiously, he only saw about 13 minutes of ice time, much below his average. Assuming he's back on the ice for Saturday's midday matchup with the Devils, he's a go in your lineup. In the meantime, monitor his status to make sure this drop in ice time isn't anything more than an aberration.

News
Schenn woke up from a three-game skid with his 15th goal of the year Thursday in a 5-1 win over Buffalo.

Being the second Flyer tally of the game, it held up as the winning goal. Schenn's now hit the 30-point mark, leaving him on pace to approximately match last season's career-high 48 -- that's not bad in leagues that count his plentiful hits, but it has to qualify as a bit of a disappointment for fantasy owners who hoped to see him take a leap forward in productivity this year.

Radko Gudas, # 3

News
Gudas will not be disciplined for hitting Sabres forward Daniel Catenacci on the head in Thursday night's contest, Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

The questionable play involved Catenacci attempting to handle a loose puck with his head down, only for Gudas to skate in and level him. Catenacci reportedly is being examined for a possible concussion as a result of the nasty hit. The word "dirty" has been synonymous with Gudas in terms of how he plays the game. On Dec. 1, he was slapped with a three-game suspension for an illegal check to the head of Ottawa forward Mika Zibanejad and was met with a fine of nearly $16 thousand.

News
Cousins scored the first goal of his career, adding an assist and a plus-3 rating Thursday in a 5-1 win over Buffalo.

Cousins is still seeing thin ice time -- just 10:46 in this one -- but we finally got to see a flash of the talent that's helped him compile 38 points in as many AHL games this year. His goal was a spectacular one-man show, as he created a turnover, turned on the jets to beat the defense down the ice, and unleashed an impressive blast right through Sabres goalie Robin Lehner. Keep an eye on his ice time, as Cousins could see his role expand in the continued absence of Sean Couturier (lower body).

News
Raffl scored his first goal since Jan. 9, adding an assist and a plus-3 rating, in Thursday's win over the Sabres.

Raffl's offensive touch hasn't shown up too often -- indeed, that goal in early January came in his only other multi-point effort of the year. Last year's 21 goals were nice, but Raffl's shooting percentage has normalized this year, making him a marginal fantasy asset even in leagues that count his one major statistical contribution, hits.
