News
Filppula picked up an assist Thursday in a loss to Calgary. It was just his second point in 11 games.

Flip has been struggling offensively since Jan. 24. He has just six shots in those 11 games -- the same number as hits in that span. Filppula has managed to put up more point to this point (34 in 58 games) than he did in 76 games last season (31). Still, there's minimal value in his game right now.

News
Stralman appeared in his 600th NHL game Thursday. He has played for the Lightning, Rangers, Blue Jackets and Maple Leafs.

Stralman has been a steady force on the Bolts back end this season, but points have been hard to come by. He has just one assist in his last 14 games and 15 points in 51 games. Stralman's minus-1 rating this season is his first negative tally in that category since 2010-11. His on-ice value remains high, but his fantasy value is sorely restricted.

News
Bishop was traded from the Lightning to the Kings on Sunday in exchange for Peter Budaj, Erik Cernak, a 2017 seventh-round draft pick, and a 2017 conditional draft pick. The Kings will also receive a fifth-round draft pick from the Lightning.

This trade would have made a lot of sense had it happened a month or two ago, but the fact that it occurred just one day following Jonathan Quick's return from a lengthy injury is a bit puzzling. Groin injuries like the one sustained by Quick can be very fickle, so the logic is that by adding Bishop, the Kings will have a solid starter if Quick aggravates his injury. Bishop was on fire prior to the trade, posting a 1.17 GAA and a .953 save percentage on his way to five straight victories. Having two great goalies on the same depth chart is great for the NHL team involved, but it could hurt the value of each one's individual fantasy value, as the two could split starts going forward.

News
Vasilevskiy made 22 saves in a 3-2 loss to the Flames on Thursday night.

The guy is talented, but he hasn't won a game since Jan. 24. And Vasilevskiy has once just a single game in 2017. He's making it hard on the Bolts to deal with Ben Bishop's expiring contract. Vasilevskiy is proving he's just not ready to step into the starter's role.

News
Drouin (illness) isn't on the ice for pregame warmups, indicating he won't play Thursday against the Flames.

With Drouin unavailable Thursday, the recently recalled Cory Conacher will get an opportunity to slot into the lineup against the Flames. Tampa Bay's next game isn't until Monday against the Senators, which could give Drouin enough time to overcome the illness that's keeping him out of Thursday evening's contest.

News
Dotchin has been quietly effective alongside Victor Hedman in the Lightning's top pairing.

Dotchin is a physical, defense-first blue liner with size who seems to have real chemistry with Hedman. He has a solid shot and can move the puck fast. Dotchin just doesn't pick up many points -- he has two assists in his last five games and three in 13 this season.
