| The Jets were unable to make the playoffs while in the Southeast, and now they join a conference with Chicago, St. Louis and improving Minnesota. | ||

| The season will come down to Tuesday in Washington. Win and they still have a chance to catch Washington in the Southeast, believe it or not. Lose and they are done ... in the division and probably for the eight seed. | ||

| The Jets are close to the playoffs right now but just seem so far away. Still, they're giving it their all and have won three straight -- all on home ice, like last season -- to stay in range of the the last spot (and the Caps in the Southeast). | ||

| They appear to be pretty safe in the Southeast lead but the Canes and Caps have games in hand, so it's deceiving. ... One of the great mysteries this season; why is Winnipeg better on the road than at home? | ||

| They would love to have that Caps series back. They had back-to-back home games against the Caps and lost them by a combined 10-1. Again, that was at home. Talk about missing one (or two). | ||
| 03/18/2013 | 14 | 22 |
| I still don't buy the Jets as a great team with their minus-8 goal differential, but the good news is you don't have to be great to win the Southeast, which they currently lead. | ||

| Nobody is talking about them but they're hanging around; three back in the Southeast, two back of eighth. Now just win at home and they might be onto something. | ||

| Can somebody please get to the bottom of this mystery that is the Jets' lack of success at home vs. their success on the road? K, thanks ... They are the forgotten team in the Southeast still, I think, but they're quietly in second. They could be the benefactors of a Carolina fall. | ||

| One of the weirdest stats this season? The Jets are 3-5-0 at home and 5-4-1 on the road. Go figure ... Nobody talks about him, but Andrew Ladd is having a nice season. He has 10 goals and seven assists in 18 games. Very good player. | ||
| 02/18/2013 | 27 | 22 |
| They're 2-7-0 in their last nine games. Yes, it's starting to hit the folks in Winnipeg that these are still very much the Atlanta Thrashers. | ||

| The honeymoon is over in Winnipeg, now the fans want to see a winner. They're still not there yet. The jury remains out on whether Ondrej Pavelec can be a true No. 1 goalie. ... I did like the addition of Olli Jokinen a lot; top-six centers aren't easy to find. | ||
