The work Kevin Cheveldayoff did before the deadline allowed him to rest easy Monday. They improved forward depth with Lee Stempniak and Jiri Tlusty. The deal that brought in Tyler Myers and Drew Stafford, among others, is already paying dividends.
The Jets find themselves with real challengers in the wild card race for the first time in a while. The Wild are just two points away from taking the first wild card position away from them.
The Jets appear to be back on track after swinging a blockbuster deal that brought back Tyler Myers and Drew Stafford. They've won 4 of 5, which has tightened their grip on the top wild-card spot in the West.
The Jets have been overshadowed by the ongoing drama with forward Evander Kane. That only added to the dreariness of a six-game losing streak, which ended Sunday. Winnipeg has to find a way to avoid the late-season tailspin here.
The upstart Jets are trending down after four straight losses. The Jets gave up five goals in each of those losses, raising concerns about the previously strong goaltending the team was getting. This is becoming a crucial point in the season for this club.
Can the Jets stay hot and continue to be a factor in the Central Division coming out of the break? Many signs point to yes, making Winnipeg one of the more intriguing teams the rest of the way.
Look out! The Jets look like they're for real. Improved goaltending and a scoring attack that is only heating up has this team looking like a legitimate threat in the Western Conference (assuming goaltending holds up).
The Jets are still in playoff position and looking good to stay there. They are starting to get all of their injured defensemen back and that will take some pressure off of Dustin Byfuglien, who has been incredible.
With all of the injuries the Jets have been dealing with, they shouldn't be playing as well has they have. The move to put Dustin Byfuglien back on defense has been spectacular. More ice for "Big Buff" has been great for Winnipeg.
Have the Jets found their starter? Michael Hutchinson may have wrested the starting job from Ondrej Pavelec with his .937 save percentage in 15 appearances. The Jets are in playoff position now and Hutchinson could help keep them there.
Preseason Power Rankings
The Jets have crashed violently back to earth after they blew the barn doors off of Arizona. Goaltending remains a concern, but this team's top six has started off looking pretty darn good.
