Power Rankings
Can the Jets stay hot and continue to be a factor in the Central Division coming out of the break? Many signs point to yes, making Winnipeg one of the more intriguing teams the rest of the way.
Look out! The Jets look like they're for real. Improved goaltending and a scoring attack that is only heating up has this team looking like a legitimate threat in the Western Conference (assuming goaltending holds up).
The Jets are still in playoff position and looking good to stay there. They are starting to get all of their injured defensemen back and that will take some pressure off of Dustin Byfuglien, who has been incredible.
With all of the injuries the Jets have been dealing with, they shouldn't be playing as well has they have. The move to put Dustin Byfuglien back on defense has been spectacular. More ice for "Big Buff" has been great for Winnipeg.
Have the Jets found their starter? Michael Hutchinson may have wrested the starting job from Ondrej Pavelec with his .937 save percentage in 15 appearances. The Jets are in playoff position now and Hutchinson could help keep them there.
Devastating long-term injuries to the club's blue line has the Jets' position as a wild-card team looking pretty precarious, but this team has been finding a way a lot this season. Winnipeg has taken points from nine of its last 10 games.
With Eastern teams coming into Winnipeg over the next three games, the Jets have a chance to assert some of their Western might. Even as a middle-of-the-pack team, the Jets have been a surprise this year.
The Jets are finding the net more frequently, which unfortunately coincides with a backslide from goalie Ondrej Pavelec. Injuries won't help, but the Jets have exceeded expectations.
The Jets keep hanging around, but their more recent wins have come against teams below them in the standings. They have to start beating some heavyweights to get more respect.
With just one win in their last five games, is it time to start wondering if Winnipeg is falling back to earth? Three of those losses came against divisional opponents, which doesn't bode well.
Preseason Power Rankings
The Jets have crashed violently back to earth after they blew the barn doors off of Arizona. Goaltending remains a concern, but this team's top six has started off looking pretty darn good.
