PLAYER NOTES

--D Andreas Lilja has felt much better since seeing a chiropractor in Vancouver recently. Lilja, out since Feb. 28 with concussion-like symptoms, said he is experiencing fewer headaches and has increased his tempo in practice. He doesn't know when he'll be cleared to play, but he is more optimistic now about his return.

--C Henrik Zetterberg is heating up after a cold start. He has three goals in his last four games, doing a much better job of controlling the puck in the offensive zone and taking it to the net.

--D Doug Janik was reassigned to Grand Rapids (AHL) after making his Wings debut Tuesday, logging 13 minutes and playing a safe and solid game.

MEDICAL WATCH

--LW Brad May is day-to-day with a right eye injury. He was clipped by an errant stick while sitting on the bench on Oct. 31. The injury is not significant. May might return Saturday.

--C Valtteri Filppula is out until late December with a broken right wrist sustained Oct. 29. It's a hairline fracture and won't require surgery.

--D Andreas Lilja is on long-term injured reserve to start the season. He has not played since sustaining a concussion on Feb. 28 on a punch from Nashville's Shea Weber. Lilja is skating but has not been cleared for contact.

--LW Johan Franzen isn't expected to return until March due to a torn left anterior cruciate ligament, sustained Oct. 8 versus Chicago. He had surgery on Oct. 16 in Birmingham, Ala.
