PLAYER NOTES

--Mikko Koivu's first-period goal gave him 20 for the season, a career first. It also gave the Wild four 20-goal scorers for the first time in franchise history.

--Derek Boogaard brought the crowd to its feet with a third-period fight. But his play before that is what made coach Jacques Lemaire so happy. Focusing on hockey, Boogaard tied his career high with two shots on net. He also drew two Oilers penalties and provided a key screen on Kurtis Foster's second-period goal.

"This is what I want him to do," Lemaire said. "He was good in his own zone, better with the puck. This is the hockey I want him to play."
