What do you guys think 2 years away? Jacobson is a prototypical Lou center who can play both ways. But Tenendy is a speedster which we haven't had for a long time if ever. I cannot wait for this kid to at least get to Lowell so I can go watch him fly down the ice. A lot of scouting reports say he is the best playmaking prospect the

I figured I'd start a thread that we can hopefully keep around for a large part of the season that just touches on some random things that we notice during the games that aren't 100% related to each and every post-game thread.
I wanted to start out by saying how much I love Rob Niedermayer. Besides playing

Wow it seems like this guy should be about 30 years old but he's only 22. I'm really starting to like his game. I was wondering what you guys thought his top numbers would be per year. I'm thinking he could be a 20-30 goal type guy. I think he's a typical Lou type guy who is unselfish and can move around on any line and play on both ends of the ice and be okay. I'm no

So after 12 games and a few days off here I just wanted to take an overall look at the first set of games the Devils play to see what type of team we are shaping up to be. Here are 8 good points and 8 bad points........
First the Good...
1) Overall a 8-4 record is not bad. They seem to of rebounded after a slow start of

The preseason is over and it's only mere days until the entire free world tunes in to the Rangers opener. Jets 3-0, Yanks, Rangers. It's all good

Remember when this guy was just a fighter? His skill level has gotten so good over the last few years. He is probably the biggest interchangeable part we have. He can go from the checking line to the 1st line and not skip a beat. That shootout goal the other night was sweet as pecan pie on Thanksgiving.

It is what the title is. Copy the below, and prove to us that you are a true believer. If you're on the bandwagon now, this list entails that you ride the bandwagon right to the ground-- Devils jersey on and foam finger in hand-- like a true fan does. This is, like the title says

WHy can't we win at home? It can't be tougher teams... we beat Pitt and Washington away. And "if" the fans aren't showing up and more opposing fans shouldn't they just try and see it as more motivation like another away game ala the Giants against the Patriots and throughout the playoffs? I would like to see them to start to win at home more, with their road record and agains

I was scanning the standings looking hypothetically at if the season ended today where would the Devils be and the rest of the teams. I know its way to early but I did this for a more important reason how Teams are awarded points in"OT" tie scenarios. Anyway the Devils qualified for a spot however a team like the

After starting off the season with the first two games at home and having attented both of those games.....for those who have not witnessed this first hand yet - let me set it up for you.....
The house lights go down, the video board comes on, the familiar gong of the bells starts for one of the coolest openings to Hockey in the NHL - the fans are getting

Martin being out really hurts one of the most underated defensemen in hockey. Murphy or Fraser are going to have to step up or a trade will be coming soon. Pandolpho will not be missed as much because we have other players that are similar to him. Good bounce back after slow start to the season Elias should be returning soon plus the addition of Mcammond will add grit to thi

I have been playing the new NHL 10 by easports, amazing game, but tonight I scrolled through the Devils schedule and from november to the new year and I realized how brutal their schedule is. I haven't noticed it until now because I'm usually the focus on one game at a time type of guy but starting in November the devils have a typical patte

And he's coming back in the Buffalo game... yikes. 5-0 on the road, recently beating two division foes, and the Stanley cup Champs. Zajac has been great. I know this is a weird question... but what do we do with our lines? Where does Elias go? He can only help... I just want to see Zajac keep it up as well... we have beaten some of the better teams so far... without E

Both out 4-6 weeks.
Martin has a non displaced fracture on his arm right above his wrist and Pando has a shoulder dislocation (that popped back into place) which could require surgery if the rehab doesn't work. (All info from Gulitti's blog) Not too concerned about losing Jay... but Martin being out worries me.
